Hailing all the way from the United Kingdom, PLYA takes their synthwave sound and puts it directly into your ears with a unique and passionate sound!
PLYA consists of frontwoman Julia Sykes, guitarist Kris Taylor, and drummer William Brown. Together, they come together and take musing electronic pop, blend it with the roots of the London music scene and mix it with the feeling of California beaches and the wonder of Los Angeles to create a sound that is so different, yet so familiar.
After years of playing together, even spending the summer of 2016 on the coveted Vans Warped Tour, the band has found a sound that is tailor-made for them. Julia’s soothing vocals and melodies, playing along with Kris’s fun guitar, and William’s booming percussion, make PLYA’s music the perfect sound for a summer road trip.,
Just recently, Julia was awarded the PRS’s Women Make Music Grant, which has helped PLYA make more waves and make more music. On February 28th, 2019, PLYA headlined an all women fronted concert at the Thousand Island in London along with CHRONICLE and Gigi Music.
