Local police departments are accepting items to assist neglected and abused children.
Police departments in Jasper, Huntingburg and Santa Claus as well as the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, are accepting donations for the Southwest Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition Inc.
The departments participating are accepting items such as paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, crayons, Lysol wipes, coloring books, books, chalk, snacks, bottled water, candy, new puzzles, new board games, Kool-Aid pouches, coffee cups/mugs, coffee, hand sanitizer, dish soap, markers, notebooks, copy paper, gift cards/cash, trash bags and any other items for #GivingTuesday.
The Southwest Indiana Child Advocacy Center Coalition assists police departments and investigators throughout southwestern Indiana in providing forensic interviews with juvenile victims of abuse and neglect. The group maintains special low-stress homes to conduct interviews with these children in safe areas that can be more comfortable for the victims in their times of need.
