Check out the new track by Chelsea Effect, “Minefield”!

Minefield is the lead single off of Chelsea Effects debut album, Different Faces of the Sun, which was released on June 21, 2019. The song was featured on several major Spotify playlists, including Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds: Poptronix. This comes on the heels of their first release, Good Enough, which was featured on Spotify’s New Music Fridays and featured in publications such as Neon Gold and Idolator.

Regarding the song, as lead singer Emerald tells it:

Minefield was the last song we wrote for the album and it encompasses a lot of the struggle we went through in the creation of this first collection of music. When you have different personalities in a studio, that are all passionate about what they’re doing, it can sometimes get quite heated. Ultimately, we are all close friends working towards the same goal and even though it wasn’t easy at times, the struggle was worth it. That’s the thing about working on a team; when it gets hard, you can always choose whether to walk away or keep going. When you can work through the storm and come out even stronger on the other side, that’s when the magic happens.”

The Chelsea Effect takes its name from the legendary Hotel Chelsea in New York City, which has hosted artistic visionaries for over a century. Everyone from Bob Dylan and Janis Joplin to Allen Ginsberg and Dylan Thomas, not only stayed at the Hotel Chelsea, but also created artistic movements that have inspired generations. Arthur Miller wrote a piece entitled “The Chelsea Affect” that described life in the Hotel during the 1960’s and the effect it had on pop culture.  This project embodies that spirit. Music, fashion, art … a movement.
