Check Out Kanye West’s Long Anticipated Album JESUS IS KING Below!
Originally slated for November of 2018, the infamous lyricist Kanye West has finally released his gospel record JESUS IS KING.
West began holding worshiping services all throughout 2019, eventually performing the track “Water” at the Coachella Music Festival on Easter Sunday. After hosting a private performance of the album in Detroit this past September, the album is here.
The album, like the name implies, is an intimate exposure to West’s religious side. The opening song, “Every Hour” features West’s Sunday Service Choir as it gives an upbeat and strong feeling of what a Sunday Morning Service with Kanye is like. Tracks like “Selah” and “On God” showcase West as he exclaims his devotion to his God and his family.
West is never a stranger to having other artists on his records. Other lyricists like Ty Dolla $ign, Pusha-T, and Fred Hammond make appearances on this record. One that stands out is a saxophone solo by the one and only Kenny G on the track “Use This Gospel”.
West ends the album with a short and simple hymn called “Jesus is Lord”, where West alone seemingly fitting way to contrast to the eccentric beginning of the album with the Sunday Service Choir.
JESUS IS KING released on October 25th, 2019 through Def Jam Records.
